In July 2014, CARRE team at BED gave a presentation, as part of series CCGV project presentations, on CARRE project to a team led by Donna Holding, the Commissioning Manager of Luton Clinical Commissioning Group (LCCG). LCCG later invited the CCGV team to present the projects at the CCG’s Long Term Conditions Meeting on 25th September 2014.
Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is clinically led, by doctors and nurses and other health care professionals, to plan and design local health services in England. The CCG have taken over many of the responsibilities that were previously performed by the primary care trust.
Luton CCG (LCCG) is a local organization in Luton, England. Each of the 31 GP practices in Luton is a member and provides local health knowledge and experience. LCCG plan, organize and purchase NHS funded health care for the people living in Luton. This includes hospital services, community health services (such as district nursing, health visiting and various therapies) and mental health services.
The main purpose of the presentation was to introduce our work and also seek for further collaborations. The point that we emphasised was that the technology we are developing is very general and versatile so it can be adapted to many situations found in the care of specific diseases, rehabilition, remote monitoring (for example, of elderly or frail citizens) and is not specifically tied to the particular area of application that is the focus of the project in question – these are always used as demonstrators of the viability of a more general technolog
