VULSK team is a combination of medical experts in research and management of chronic heart disease and diabetes utilizing health informatics. VULSK is in fact a pioneer in developing and deploying ICT interventions in clinical routine.

The Vilnius University Hospital Santariškių Klinikos is one of the major medical treatment institutions in Lithuania. Consists of 28 centers, has a staff of 5168 employees, including 331 doctors of medical science and 40 habilitated doctors of medical science. The Hospital provides state-of-the-art health care services of highest level – annual provision of around 800,000 ambulatory consultations, about 83,000 patients are treated in the in-patient department, some 30,000 complex operations are performed annually. Hospital information system with advanced EPR and integrated laboratory, radiology and other instrumental investigation reporting, transcription services etc.;
Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) for Radiology with Web-based interface;
Internet Patient Card – enables patients or second opinion consultants to access some clinical documents like laboratory reports, images, prescriptions and discharge letters.
